Are absent. One not by choice (she's in Tahiti and unable to travel) and the other most likely by choice. I haven't seen her since I've been married (at least 8 years) or spoken to her unless my dad is at my house and has her on the phone. Awkward. I'm glad my kids don't have absent grandparents.
